Bill
was saved and called into the ministry in his early twenties. However,
he did not respond to God’s call, but pursued a career in business and
later in medicine. He became a physician’s assistant and practiced for
thirteen years.
Losing
his job due to sudden blindness, Bill faced the realization that he had
run from ministry for twenty-five years.
While still blind, Bill enrolled in seminary.
God did return his sight and he graduated in 1989 and became
pastor of Shady
Grove Baptist Church. He
and his wife Sandra, whom Bill describes as his “prayer warrior”
served faithfully for eight years in this small church setting.
Out
of these personal and pastoral experiences, God has given Bill a heart
and burden for bringing renewal and leadership training to the small
church.
